Don't these Homemade Chai Scented Christmas Ornaments look yummy enough to eat? Well they're not, but they smell incredible and are one of the easiest and most fun Christmas crafts you can do this month!

I don't know about you, but I'm feeling the holiday spirit this year. Even the husband (who is usually pretty whatever about it) has been cheerful. I attribute this to the lack of gifts we're giving and receiving. We're experiencing Christmas in a whole new light, and we like it.

You have no idea how stoked I am to be posting about this homemade vegan advent calendar! On the first of December, social media sites are filled with people posting pictures of their advent calendars, and it usually leaves me feeling jealous and sad. Well never again!

Old Fashioned Wifery: Mend Your Clothes

I didn't disappear, I promise! I've been illish. I've been absent due to fatigue, sleepiness and lethargy. I felt like I had the flu without the pain. It was all very strange. I had enough energy to fulfill my husband's shmoozing commitments, and that was about it. Otherwise it was a lot of laying on my couch and binge watching "Roseanne" on YouTube. Needless to say all blog work and blog reading went by the wayside, and I now have over 100 blog entries in my feed to read. It's good to know that no else was feeling illish!

I'm much better now, and I'm excited to move forward in the Vintage Domesticity Series. Not a moment too soon since July is almost over. How did that happen? By late next month football will be on, and pumpkin beer will be available. Can you believe it??

3. Mend Your Clothes.
My third reflection on vintage domesticity is on mending your own clothes. I have a very long history of mending my own clothes though not conventionally.

USC T-Shirt Scarf

We're two games into the college football season (about an hour away from the third) and my team is really really struggling. USC fans are used to their team playing exceptionally well so there's like this feeling of crisis going on at our local game watches. We lost the game last week to kind of a silly team, and morale is low low low.

I love them though and my spirit is still going! They're Trojans and I'm excited to support them this season. I wanted to do something fun to celebrate the start of the 2013 season so I repurposed some unused USC t-shirts. I made a scarf!

Forgive my photography! I'm used to food, not clothes.

I could never throw away my old USC shirts knowing that t-shirt crafts were plentiful. I perused Pinterest and found this tuturial from kevinandamanda.com. Perfect!
